On Sunday, the Patriots were able to put their lengthy offseason behind them.

At Paycor Stadium, New England surprised everyone by defeating the Cincinnati Bengals, which helped to lessen the intense hostility that had been surrounding them all summer.

Rhamondre Stevenson has incredible ball-running ability. One of the greatest defenses in the NFL may be found in New England. Jeremy Springer, Alex Van Pelt, DeMarcus Covington, and Jerod Mayo don’t appear to be overachievers.

But the Patriots were unable to directly address any of the inquiries that people are now raising regarding Robert Kraft’s ownership, which may be the reason that Mayo quietly delivered a message after his first victory.

It was unique. According to team-provided video, Mayo stated, “I just want to thank the Kraft family — Robert, Jonathan, Danny, Josh, all those guys — just for the opportunity and for not really getting in the middle of anything that we do football-wise.” “To me, Eliot Wolf, the Patriots’ executive vice president of player personnel, and the rest of the team, they’ve essentially handed the keys over. I just want to say thank you for the chance, and I’m happy that we came in here today and did a fantastic job representing the Krafts.”

Given that the Patriots have spent the least amount of money in the last ten years, Kraft has come under scrutiny for his thrift. However, Mayo clarified that the 83-year-old’s mandate isn’t the reason for the lack of investment.

Mayo and Wolf think they’re in control and that Kraft is just as dedicated to winning now as he was in the past.

Patriots captain overcomes injuries with Holiday Inn’s assistance.

Cincinnati — Something in Jacksonville Peppers’ leg felt odd when he landed awkwardly during Friday’s practice, but Patriots safety didn’t seem to be concerned.

But by that evening, his hip was howling.

“I had a terrible time falling asleep. Peppers stated, “I was up all night,” following the Bengals’ surprise victory, 16-10. “I think I slept for about two hours on Friday.”

The situation worsened early on Saturday.

When the captain arrived at the Gillette Stadium complex in advance of his flight to Cincinnati for the season opener, he stated he “couldn’t really walk.” He saw the training staff, who added a dubious categorization to his injury report and gave him a fast recuperation plan.

“I made fun of the therapy,” Peppers declared. “They had a solid strategy for me.”

One thing, though, made the rehabilitation in Cincinnati more difficult: there was no swimming pool at the team hotel. Peppers and the training staff got inventive since he was determined to participate in the opening game. They discovered a Holiday Inn “across the street” with a pool, so they jumped in. Finding some open water allowed the safety and a trainer to do all of the workouts without any significant disruptions.

Peppers declared, “I was not going to miss the first game of the season.” “It would have taken my leg off for me to miss that.”

Peppers felt better on Sunday morning following the pool treatment, and he passed every test administered by the training staff to be cleared for kickoff. He set the tone for New England’s thrilling victory over Joe Burrow and the Bengals by recording six tackles.
