Arizona The Arizona Cardinals have added more than a dozen individuals to their practice squad for the 2024 season, one day after completing roster cuts to reduce their squad to 53 players.
The Cardinals announced the addition of Julian Okwara and 13 well-known players, including:
-Andre Baccellia, wide receiver
-Markus Bailey, a linebacker
– Krys Barnes, the linebacker
– Jackson Barton, an attacking lineman
-Reversing course Michael A. Carter
-Dan Chisena, wide receiver
Back-row player Jaden Davis
Prodigious offensive lineman Marquis Hayes Jr.
-Markus Ismael, an offensive lineman
-Tejhaun Palmer, wide receiver
-Desmond Ridder, quarterback
-Linebacker on defense Ben Stille
Wilson, Cornerback Divaad
Bernhard Seikovits, a tight end, was also granted an exemption from the foreign player practice squad by Arizona.

After spending four seasons with the Lions (2020–23), Okwara (6-4, 250) spent the summer with the Eagles before joining the Cardinals. 53 tackles, 16 quarterback hits, 12 tackles for loss, 9.0 sacks, three passes defensed, one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery were among his stats in 38 games (four starts) with Detroit.
“Detroit initially picked the 26-year-old Okwara out of Notre Dame in the third round (67th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. With career highs in games played (13), tackles (27), quarterback hits (9), tackles for loss (6), sacks (5.0), passes defensed (2), interceptions (1), forced fumbles (1), and fumble recoveries (1), he enjoyed his greatest season in 2021. Romeo, his brother, has eight years of NFL experience.”
The Cardinals’ leadership extends beyond their recently appointed captains.
TEMPE — Under head coach Jonathan Gannon, there was even more significance attached to the designation of “Arizona Cardinals captain” in Year 2.
Gannon gave the players control over Arizona’s leadership in 2023 after selecting the team himself. In addition, he reduced the number of captains from six to four, while “most games” would still have a captain on game day. That will also be decided by the players the previous evening.
Quarterback Kyler Murray, running back James Conner, linebacker Kyzir White, and safety Budda Baker were selected for the 2024 team as a result of Gannon’s revised algorithm.

“Having your peers appreciate you feels wonderful. White remarked on Monday, “I think it indicates you’re doing the right things.” “I speak when necessary. I try not to take on too much. It is great to hear that my teammates view me as a captain since I truly just strive to lead by example. It’s not something I treat lightly.
In the NFL, being named captain by players or the coaching staff is no easy task. There’s a reason why players get certain roles.
Who else do you think will assist in leading the Cardinals?
This upcoming season, there will only be four permanent “C” patches, yet the locker room still has a lot of leadership.
“There were many good guys in that locker room who received votes.” There’s a ton of leadership—positive leadership—in there with a variety of men, according to Gannon. “I’m really happy with the way our team is doing and where we are right now.”
Pass rusher Dennis Gardeck is one of the greatest names that springs to mind, along with some unfortunate leadership snubs. By 2024, the seasoned coach had received the “C” in each of the previous four seasons under two separate heads.

There are several captains present in the room. It came down to (Gannon) picking four this year, but to be honest, this squad has more than four captains.
