Throughout the offseason, there have been rumors of an Alvin Kamara move that aren’t going to go away anytime soon. After essentially stagnating for four years following Drew Brees’ retirement, New Orleans still has time to move their top running back and undertake a thorough rebuild with the regular season less than a week away. All Kamara rumors were just that—rumors—until this point, but the most recent information from around the league indicates a deal may be on the horizon.

Alvin Kamara’s house was for sale, as X user Blake Prest discovered while idly looking through real estate listings. Numerous media outlets in New Orleans quickly verified this, indicating that a trade involving Alvin Kamara might occur at any time. The Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers seem like the most likely destinations if a trade occurs this year, but Kamara may have intentions to depart New Orleans after the 2024 season, similar to how Tom Brady put his home for sale back in 2019.

Saints Alvin Kamara Puts House Up for Sale; Could Chargers and Cowboys Trade?

The Dallas Cowboys desperately need a running back. Although the team signed a huge contract with standout wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, they still need to decide what will happen to quarterback Dak Prescott and edge defender Micah Parsons. All three of these guys may be playing for America’s Team for the final time this season, therefore Jerry Jones and company should be making every effort to win the Lombardi in 2024. Even though Alvin Kamara isn’t the same talent he once was, this backfield would be significantly improved by a trade.

Latest Move Suggest Saints Could Trade Star To Cowboys, Chargers

Journeyman Rico Dowdle is currently competing with two players who are far beyond their prime, Dalvin Cook and Ezekiel Elliott, for the starting running back position. In the pass-happy NFL of today, running back isn’t one of the more crucial positions, but you have to do better than this. A deal for Alvin Kamara would enhance the passing game in addition to helping in the tackle zone. Although Kamara may be the squad’s second or third option in the passing attack, Lamb will lead the team in targets.

Traditional Harbaugh

An old-school coach that believes in the effectiveness of the run game is Jim Harbaugh. Sadly, his running backs aren’t that impressive. J.K. Dobbins is coming off a significant Achilles injury, which usually means the end for running backs, while Gus Edwards is an uninspiring journeyman. Although this club should have one of the best offensive lines in the league, they should trade for Alvin Kamara so that they have a player who can take advantage of these rushing lanes.

No one believes that Kamara, as he is now, is the same unstoppable player who, as a rookie, averaged over six yards per rush and was selected to five consecutive Pro Bowls between 2017 and 2021. He is still capable of making plays as a receiver and runner, though, and he might be an important member of the passing attack. Los Angeles may trade for Kamara and use him as a pseudo-receiver whenever feasible because they don’t have any established receivers on the roster.
