With the New England Patriots, Tom Brady thrived on preparation and helped them start a remarkable dynasty that lasted 20 seasons and produced six titles.

When he hung up his cleats following the 2022 season, he didn’t simply forget that knowledge. Almost every note he took during his Patriots days was preserved, and he intends to save a comparable file of material when he starts his broadcasting career with FOX Sports this season.

Brady walked viewers through his old game notes and call sheets from the New England offense in a recent vlog for his YouTube account. Occasionally, plays were added to those call sheets without head coach Bill Belichick’s awareness.

Brady said, “This is our final call sheet.” “Josh (McDaniels) constantly hid plays from Bill since Bill never desired a large play count. There are roughly 95 plays total. Josh would play the asterisk. And there was the call sheet’s reverse side. We most likely had 150 plays in the end.”

In this episode, Brady went over his notes from 2016. Following a four-game ban, he flourished that season, leading the Patriots to a record touchdown-to-interception ratio of 28-2 as they finished 14-2. Ultimately, New England defeated the Atlanta Falcons in a thrilling fashion to win Super Bowl LI.

When Brady returns to the broadcast booth on September 8 with play-by-play commentator Kevin Burkhardt when the Dallas Cowboys face the Cleveland Browns, he will be looking to capitalize once more on his football acumen and preparation.

Waivers are lifted for Isaiah Bolden, potentially allowing him to rejoin the Patriots.

Through a series of roster moves, the New England Patriots were able to keep three of the four players they released on Wednesday. It looks like the stage is now set for the fourth to join the group as well.

Along with defensive tackle Trysten Hill, offensive lineman Michael Jordan, and wide receiver Jalen Reagor, the team cut cornerback Isaiah Bolden, who was not claimed off the waiver wire. It is anticipated that he will likely return soon to rejoin the other three members of the New England practice squad.

In the 2023 NFL Draft, Bolden, 24, was selected by the Patriots in the seventh round. During his rookie training camp, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound defender, who played for both Florida State and Jackson State in college, fought for a backup role.

But ultimately, after leaving a preseason game against the Green Bay Packers in an ambulance, he was forced to miss the entire year. Following a concussion that resulted in the game’s suspension, Bolden’s injury required the team to keep him out of the field for the duration of his rookie season.

In the spring of this year, Bolden returned, and he saw a lot of action in the summer. Over the course of three exhibition games, he played a total of 67 defensive snaps and 23 in the kicking game. He was a quality backup in the slot and a versatile presence on special teams.

Despite his initial success in making the Patriots’ 53-man roster, the team opted to cut him once more after he was linked to multiple waiver wire claims. It was up to Bolden himself to go through the wire, which he did now.

There are presently four spaces available on the Patriots practice squad, and Bolden may wind up taking one of them.
