For many NFL players, this week has been difficult and frustrating. Teams had until Tuesday at 4 PM to reduce to 53 players on their roster by waiving, releasing, or placing players on an alternate list. But in the days that followed, it made room for a huge influx of free agents to hit the waiver wire or the market, which sparked a frenzy of signings. The Cincinnati Bengals, who believe they might improve at a certain position, took advantage of their final opportunity before the season began to add talent to that position on Thursday.

Kendall Milton, a former standout running back for the Georgia Bulldogs, signed with the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad after being cut by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent.

Although Milton was in a crowded Eagles running back room, he had a strong preseason. He ran 15 times for 49 yards and a touchdown at the end of the preseason. 3.3 yards on average for each carry. In four seasons as a collegiate player at Georgia, he gained 1,839 yards through 297 rushes, 23 touchdowns, and an average of 6.2 yards per carry. It’s important to remember that he was surrounded in the backfield by other elite running backs. Georgia rarely works with one back to itself. They divide carries amongst two or three people.

He now plays in a considerably less experienced backfield and will have chances to contend for a position on the squad. At the moment, he trails Zach Moss, Trayvon Williams, and Chase Brown.
