He is on a deal believed to be worth around $550,000 per season.

Maika Sivo, a forward for the Parramatta Eels, is supposedly drawing interest as the team looks to let go of several prominent players.

Many players have been linked to leaving the team as Jason Ryles looks to lead them back into the playoffs after it was announced that he will succeed interim coach Trent Barrett as coach for the upcoming campaign.

Some of the names that have apparently been given permission to negotiate with other teams are Maika Sivo, Ryan Matterson, Reagan Campbell-Gillard, and Shaun Lane. They are also allowed to depart if they are able to secure a new contract elsewhere.

Sivo, who has a contract until the end of 2027 (along with a mutual and club option for 2026), has been linked to leaving Parramatta as early as May of this year following his dismissal from the NSW Cup.

He was made available to the Super League earlier this year on a contract estimated to be worth about $550,000 per season, with reports suggesting that the Eels were willing to cover a sizeable portion of his salary.

According to Rugby League Live, he has now caught the attention of Super League team Leigh Leopards, which is coached by former Australian Kangaroos assistant coach Adrian Lam.

The Leopards are interested in signing him because they will be losing a number of players at the end of the season, including Zak Hardraker, Kai O’Donnell, John Asiata, and Tom Amone.

But, his arrival might not happen until halfback Lachlan Lam, who is connected to the NRL, makes a decision about whether to stay with the team, rejoin the NRL, or sign with a another team, like Hull FC.

This is because they might want to replace him with a top Australian playmaker by using their last quota spot.
