Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are progressing in negotiations for Marc Guehi.

After an outstanding 12 months, the defender is anticipated to depart Selhurst Park prior to the commencement of the next 2024–25 season.

Guehi, 24, who has been playing well for the Eagles individually, received a call-up to play for England in the summertime EUROs.

Guehi was his nation’s best player the entire tournament, even if the Three Lions could not overcome Spain in the end and lost 2-1.

As a result of his stock rising, the 24-year-old has been connected to a high-profile move. Although Liverpool holds admiration for the England international, it seems that a move to St. James’ Park is imminent.

Talks between the Magpies and their Premier League opponents have reportedly “progressed well over the last few days,” with “confidence” building that a deal for £60 million may be concluded, according to a recent report from the Telegraph.

The Telegraph believes that the agreement is “on course to be confirmed before the weekend” in terms of how soon it might be finalised.

Newcastle’s rivals would receive a clear message of intent if Guehi were to be captured. The former Chelsea defender is anticipated to establish himself as one of England’s first-choice centre backs, and he may be among the first players listed on the national team for the 2026 World Cup.

Guehi, who has two years remaining on his contract, has spent the last three years at Selhurst Park. In 111 games across all competitions, he has directly contributed to seven goals.
