Charlie Guymer, forward for the Parramatta Eels, has requested permission to leave due to deteriorating situation.

If the young forward is allowed to leave, he will join Blaize Talagi, Matt Arthur, and Ethan Sanders as young players who have left the Eels this season.

Guymer, a highly regarded young forward, just signed a new contract with the Eels that will keep him with the team until the end of the 2026 NRL season. He will be placed on the development list next year and promoted to the Top 30 in 2026.

Both seasons would have paid the minimum wage: $80,000 for a development player and $140,000 for his first season as a Top 30 member.

On Thursday, News Corp claimed that Guymer requested a release from the club through his management. However, the club has promptly responded, stating that Guymer will stay until the end of 2026.

“His management approached the Club last week, requesting permission to negotiate with other clubs.” “This request was denied, and the Club remains committed to Charlie’s future,” the club stated.

Charlie has told the Club that his position remains unaltered and he is entirely committed to the Parramatta Eels.

CEO Jim Sarantino expressed disappointment with how the injured forward’s condition had been handled publicly.

“It’s disappointing that Charlie has been dragged into this publicly especially as he is recovering after surgery on Monday,” Sarantino told CNN.

“We have spoken to him this afternoon and he has confirmed his commitment to the Club and reiterated his excitement in being a part of the Club’s future.”

Guymer, a promising forward, reportedly requested a release after six clubs approached his manager Anthony Field after his NRL debut.

Field credited former coach Brad Arthur for convincing him to re-sign. Following Guymer’s NRL debut, six clubs approached Field.

“It was Brad Arthur who convinced him to sign for two more years,” Field told the publication.

“Brad sold him the vision, but it has altered.

“This isn’t about Jason Ryles because they’ve had a good meeting.”

Guymer is furious about Matt Arthur, Talagi, and Sanders’ exit.

The fresh revelation is expected to raise more concerns about Parramatta’s decision to fire the former coach. The release of his kid on compassionate grounds is said to be directly related to his father’s treatment at the hands of the club. Next year’s star recruit, Zac Lomax, also requested a clause tied to Arthur in his deal with the club, but was turned down.
