HENDERSON, Nevada: Under the NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship program, the Las Vegas Raiders have announced four new coaches for the team’s 2024 training camp.

Caver Jr.: Caver Jr. will begin his second season at Livingstone College as the coordinator of the pass game and wide receivers coach.Prior to this, he was the offensive coordinator at Atkin High School in 2019 and the assistant offensive coordinator at the University of Fort Lauderdale in 2021.started his coaching career in 2018 as the wide receivers coach at Winston-Salem State University, his alma school.transferred from Youngstown State to Winston-Salem State University, where he played wide receiver for two seasons.

concluded his career with 20 games played for the Rams, 76 receptions for 1,001 yards, and four touchdowns.was given an invitation to try out for the Detroit Lions rookie minicamp in 2016 and played with the Montreal Alouettes during the 2018 preseason.

Gagliardi: Gagliardi will begin her third season as The Lawrenceville (NJ) School’s defensive pass game coordinator.She spent one season as the head coach of the junior varsity team before taking over as the running backs and defensive backs coach at West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District in 2021.She participated at the UANextFootball Camp in New Jersey and is a member of the National Coalition of Minority Football Coaches.

Pannell: After spending a year as a defensive line analyst at UCLA in 2023, Pannell is presently in his first season as the defensive line coach at Austin Peay State University.He was a William Clay Ford Minority Coaching Intern for the Detroit Lions for two seasons (2021–2022) and a Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellow for the Houston Texans in 2019.

Pannell worked for five years (2016–20) at Peru (NE) State University, three of those as defensive coordinator (2018–20), before joining the NFL.He played offensive guard for Penn State for five years (2008–12), before signing with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent and spending the 2012 summer with the organization.

Shinaver: Shinaver will begin his third season as an assistant safeties coach at Vanderbilt University.He spent his first season as a defensive intern and scouting assistant in 2022 before joining the defense as a graduate assistant in 2023.He was a walk-on receiver when he joined the Notre Dame NCAA football team in 2016 and participated in seven games during that time.He spent two years working as a strategy and analytics analyst at Deloitte Consulting after finishing his playing career.

Each year, all 32 NFL clubs take part in this program, which was created as a vocational tool to boost the number of full-time minority coaches in the NFL. The program’s goal is to give outstanding coaches the chance to watch, participate, acquire experience, and eventually land a full-time NFL coaching position by using NFL clubs’ offseason fitness programs and minicamps.

 

Cody Fajardo was taken off the injured list for six games.

Quarterback Cody Fajardo has been taken off the six-game injured list, according to an announcement made by the Montreal Alouettes.

Later today, he’ll be at practice.

After being activated from the six-game injured list by the Montreal Alouettes, quarterback Cody Fajardo was slated to return to practice on Tuesday.

The MVP of the previous Grey Cup, Fajardo, has been out since suffering a hamstring injury late in the first quarter of the team’s July 11 loss to the Toronto Argonauts, 37-18.

In six games this season, the 32-year-old has completed 77.5% of his throws for 1,636 yards. Ten touchdowns have come from his efforts, but he has also been intercepted four times.

Caleb Evans started Thursday’s game at Percival Molson Stadium against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in his place. He was substituted in the second half by Davis Alexander with nine completions in 17 attempts and 91 yards without finding the end zone. In a thrilling victory, Alexander completed 15 of 18 throws for 178 yards and two touchdowns.

With a 6-1 record, the Alouettes lead the Canadian Football League rankings. On Friday, they take on the Tiger-Cats in Hamilton.
