Dallas Turner, a rookie for the Vikings, speaks out about the passing of teammate Khyree Jackson.
The news that rookie CB Khyree Jackson had tragically died earlier this month devastated the Minnesota Vikings. He was only twenty-four. As training camp began earlier this week, one of Jackson’s closest teammates posted some moving remarks about him.
Before practice yesterday, Dallas Turner, a rookie edge rusher for the Vikings, paid tribute to his late teammate by kneeling at one of Jackson’s memorials.
“I communicate with him frequently. and feel shivers every time I speak with him,” Turner remarked. I am aware that he is keeping an eye on me.

Out of all the Vikings players, Turner has the longest personal relationship with Jackson. Jackson played with him at Alabama for a couple seasons before transferring to Oregon in 2023.
Turner put Jackson’s nameplate in the Vikings locker room next to his own.
Turner declared, “I’ll represent his name as long as I’m alive.”
Turner remarked, “That was a really great guy that I saw every single day, and I really [saw] him grow from Alabama to when he went to Oregon.” There, he experienced his share of hardships. We found ourselves back where we started. I kind of felt like that meant something, and every day after practice [this spring], there was my dude. He spent most of his time with me in the hotel, where they would hang around and talk about ridiculous things while having a good time.
“It was a guy who genuinely assisted me in developing personally. In a way, he helped me find my identity and increased my confidence both on and off the field. However, he [was] undoubtedly a very influential individual.
According to reports, Dallas Turner will be present at Khyree Jackson’s funeral later today.

Ari Meirov of The 33rd squad reports that a sizable amount of Jackson’s funeral costs will be covered by the squad. In addition, Minnesota will give Jackson’s estate the remaining portion of his signing bonus and will decorate their helmets with a unique badge come 2024.
Additionally, they are making sure that no one else will wear Jackson’s No. 31 in 2024.
The Vikings selected Jackson in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He participated in 33 games while attending Oregon and Alabama for his collegiate career. In 2023, he received the First-Team All Pac-12 title.
Jackson’s loss will be felt by the team and the NFL as a whole for the whole of the 2024 season and beyond. It’s encouraging that Jackson’s family knows they’re not the only ones who remember and celebrate his life thanks to the Vikings organization.

After just two seasons in the NFL, linebacker of the Minnesota Vikings has decided to retire, on Wednesday night, revealed his news through a visual that was uploaded to his Instagram account.
“Football has been such an incredible part of my life for the past 18 years. In his graphic, Smith stated, “It has brought me innumerable friendships, amazing moments, and priceless lessons that will last a lifetime. “Last year, after undergoing open-heart surgery, I struggled a lot to understand what I had been asking my body to accomplish to participate in this amazing game. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve been asking for too much from it.
“After giving it some serious thought and having a long conversation with my friends and family, I have decided to retire from the National Football League.” Although I am aware that this change won’t be simple, I can’t wait to approach the next phase of my life with the same zeal and determination that I gave to my football career. I am appreciative of the numerous chances football has provided me, and I will always treasure them.
“I sincerely appreciate all of my friends’ and family’s support, as well as that of the whole Vikings organization, USC, Athletes First, and everyone else who has stood by me during this journey. Once more, Cam, thank you.
