Quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens was injured on Friday after making a brief comeback to practice on Wednesday. Ravens supporters may be alarmed by Jackson’s abrupt withdrawal, but head coach John Harbaugh does not believe it is a permanent problem.

Earlier in the week, the quarterback was forced to miss practice due to an illness. According to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley, Harbaugh believes Jackson will get back on the field as soon as possible, even though he acknowledges that it’s a real struggle.

“He’s battling a disease, collaborating with our physicians, and undergoing additional testing to ensure we’ve covered everything,” Harbaugh stated. “I have no doubt that he will return very soon. It’s simply an erratic situation. You all have prior medical history. It’s not always easy. That is the issue at hand.

According to Harbaugh, “he was just not feeling up to it in terms of all the different things.” You’re hydrated, and there’s also the issue of your energy level. It comes with being ill.

The Ravens won’t be too badly impacted by missing time this early in training camp. Even though they won’t be able to implement their entire offensive playbook, this is preferable to Jackson returning from a serious injury. Nevertheless, Baltimore will keep a careful eye on the circumstances and determine when it would be ideal for the quarterback to return.

Since Lamar Jackson is currently the MVP, he will be under a lot of pressure when he does. Throughout his career, he has thrown for 15,887 yards and 125 touchdowns, earning him the title twice. In addition, he has 29 touchdowns on the ground, 5,258 running yards, two All-Pro selections, and three Pro Bowl nominations.

To put it plainly, Jackson is the reason Baltimore has been successful. The Ravens follow his lead. Even while a sickness might not be considered the worst “injury,” the team will nonetheless exercise caution. If Jackson is healthy in the long run, John Harbaugh and team are prepared to overlook a few early training camp workouts.

Nevertheless, the Ravens are hopeful that Harbaugh’s prognosis is realized and that Jackson quickly overcomes his illness to make a spectacular, healthy comeback at quarterback.

John Harbaugh Provides Updates on Baltimore Ravens’ Offensive Line Competition – Official Site

The competition for three starting places on the offensive line for the Ravens is heating up after the first day of padded practice.

There was fierce rivalry on the right side, but Andrew Vorhees remained the apparent favorite at left guard. Ben Cleveland appears to be Daniel Faalele’s primary rival for the right guard spot, while rookie Roger Rosengarten and seasoned Patrick Mekari are receiving extended looks at right tackle.

After practice on Friday, head coach John Harbaugh stated that the competition is only getting started.

“It really is a little too early to make any kind of statement,” Harbaugh stated. “I thought they looked terrific together today. They appeared robust and powerful, and they played square.

However, this is the day that you actually start to feel better. You can’t decide on an offensive line play until the pads are on.We have a few days here with the pads coming up, so it will be interesting to watch how that goes. The important thing is that we have enough men who are performing well enough to be able to form a line, so I hope it’s challenging in the sense that they’re all excelling.”

Before training camp, Harbaugh expressed his desire to decide on his starting offensive line lineup before the team’s preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on August 9. That deadline is not set in stone, though, and Harbaugh intends to give the competition as much time as necessary to conclude.

“We hope that (Aug. 9) turns out to be the case,” Harbaugh stated. Is that too much to ask?Perhaps, but that’s the best-case scenario, I’m not sure. It’s not something I necessarily anticipate happening.

“The match is very important. Thus, if you enter the first week with a solid plan and the game validates it all, you’ll feel fantastic and in control. You’re fine if you don’t. Simply keep bringing individuals in one at a time until one establishes himself, followed by another, and another, until you have a line and you can trust your instincts.”

Devontez Walker, a rookie wide receiver, is stacking plays

Throughout the first week of training, the Ravens have no shortage of wide receivers doing well, lead by Rashod Bateman, who has made a powerful first impression. On Friday, though, youngster Devontez Walker also made plays and had a lovely route to open up for a touchdown.

Walker soared up to score a back-shoulder touchdown ball from freshman Devin Leary while facing off against fellow rookie Nate Wiggins.

On gamedays, Walker hopes to work his way into the wide receiver rotation, and Harbaugh is pleased with the rookie’s development.

According to Harbaugh, “‘Tez’ is doing a great job stacking practices.” “He’s still learning as a rookie. He makes errors and then fixes them. For all the novices, there is a procedure. He’s doing a great job, in my opinion.

“I see skill, quickness, directionality, and ball-catching ability. Everything is in its proper place. Just watch how quickly he develops.”

The goal of Jalyn Armour-Davis is to stand out in the crowded cornerback room.
Third-year cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis is making his mark in the cornerback room with an interception and strong coverage during the first week of camp.

To further deepen their cornerback depth chart, the Ravens selected cornerbacks Wiggins in the first round and T.J. Tampa in the fourth. As a result, Armour-Davis isn’t guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster. The cornerback group is led by Wiggins, Marlon Humphrey, Brandon Stephens, and veteran slot corner Arthur Maulet. Armour-Davis and third-year corner Damarion “Pepe” Williams, who is also doing well, are having a great training camp.

Armour-Davis doesn’t worry about the composition of the final team since he believes that the competition has made everyone better.

Armour-Davis remarked, “I love it because we’re all eating.” The elite nature of this group compels you to have an even greater appetite. We’ve got players out here making plays, so you might be doing your job and not make a splash.

“At the end of the day, it’s just a numbers game, but you should concentrate on the day ahead of you.”We’re all together right now, so we’re making the most of our time together. The (roster) portion is out of our control.I simply improve and pick up knowledge from guys like Eddie Jackson, Marlon, B. Steve (Stephens), Art (Maulet), and Kyle (Hamilton). While you can, pick up tips from them and figure out how to improve.”

Josh Johnson Stepping Up in Lamar Jackson’s Absence Is Appreciated by Harbaugh

Josh Johnson maintained his position as the starting quarterback on Friday, with rookies Devin Leary and Emory Jones also getting reps, as Lamar Jackson was absent due to sickness. The way Johnson has filled in for Jackson has impressed Harbaugh.

Harbaugh stated, “I think he’s got a great grasp of the offense.” “He operates and manages it expertly. He throws the ball well and makes all of the judgments.

He’s here to play terrific football, that’s why. When you consider the larger picture and the long term, he stands to gain significantly by receiving a lot of reps.
