Josh Christopher, a guard, has the potential to be the next G League wonder that the Miami Heat turn to as a rotation player.
The Heat announced on Thursday that Christopher had signed a two-way contract. He received recognition for his outstanding performance in the Las Vegas Summer League. After averaging 19.3 points, three rebounds, two steals, and 1.8 assists in six games, he led the Heat to victory.
“There are moments when words just don’t seem to describe it,” Christopher remarked. “I recently learned about
Heat Culture from a message I sent to Udonis Haslem, the Heat legend: ‘Bro, I’m trying to pull up because I know what you guys are going to get out of me.'” I know what value I provide. Although I’ve been able to play basketball for a long time, I believe that this Heat Culture experience has made me even better. I can’t recall ever having a better run of games.”
After his performance in the summer league, Christopher stayed unsigned, but he still has a chance to make the team come training camp in the autumn. He believes that the Heat are the ideal match.
“They challenged me more so on the defensive end and just told me don’t even worry about offense first,” said Christoper. I believe that by putting my focus on guarding, I was able to play offense much more effectively since I was less concerned about it. Things always go awry if I worry too much about anything.”
