The strain on numerous players and coaches inside the Dallas Cowboys organization will increase as the activity during training camp heats up. Everybody’s looking to the front office to see if they can work out a deal with Dak Prescott and/or CeeDee Lamb.

Football will continue until the end of the year, with the regular season just over a month away. This week could see a significant increase in the heat for the three names listed below.

Mike McCarthy will return as coach of the Dallas Cowboys after stunning wild-card loss – KTSM 9 News

Is Mike McCarthy In The Hot Seat?

Let’s begin with Mike McCarthy, this football team’s head coach.

McCarthy is aware that his success this season will depend on it. A coach who has experienced the utmost highs is now faced with an uncertain future. McCarthy said to Dallas Morning News reporter David Moore, “This is a challenge.”

The head coach of the Cowboys continued to elaborate on his circumstances.

“You pour energy into yourself and bet on yourself, the odds tilt in your favor.”

Big Mike doesn’t have a contract extension going into this season. Jerry Jones has already demonstrated this once. He let Jason Garrett to be his job coach. Under those circumstances, the Cowboys went 13-3, but they naturally lost badly in the postseason. just as they usually did.

Up until they hosted the Packers in the first round of the playoffs, everything was going well under McCarthy’s play calling duties the previous season.

During the regular season of the previous year, they had the best scoring offense. They now rely on younger players on the offensive line in Tony Pollard’s absence.

From this point until he determines whether he will return or needs to begin seeking for work again in 2025, Mike McCarthy should only experience pressure.

Dallas Cowboys rookie report: Mazi Smith one of few to play well against Bills - Blogging The Boys

Mazi Smith Must Do Better In 2024

To put it bluntly, Mazi Smith was awful the previous season.

He was selected in the first round by the Cowboys in 2023, and after putting up such terrible numbers, there will undoubtedly be a lot of pressure on him the next season.

Smith finished 113th out of 130 defensive lineman assessed by Pro Football Focus with a 47.2 grade after playing 308 snaps in the previous season.

The defense is now led by Mike Zimmer, who ought to assist. Dan Quinn was brilliant at creating mistakes and capitalizing on them, but he forced Smith to make a lot of decisions that left us perplexed.

In May of last year, Mike Zimmer revealed to reporters that he had a plan for Smith. Zimmer claimed that Smith and he talked about the weight Smith wanted to carry.

Zimmer did not provide a weight, but he was 305 pounds the last anyone knew.

Without a doubt, in order to assist this club in stopping the run this season, Mazi Smith needs to improve. He ought to experience the same level of pressure as the other guys.

5 unavoidable repercussions if Dak Prescott leaves the Cowboys

Dak Prescott — Is It Enough?

With no deal completed yet, Dak Prescott should be under a lot of pressure. When they get closer to training camp, the tension should be evident. He has no agreement, and if one doesn’t get done by the time the season begins, the pressure will only mount.

Since the 1995 season, the Dallas Cowboys have never advanced to the NFC Championship game, much less the Super Bowl. Everyone is aware of this.

Since the 1990s, the Cowboys have just twice earned the first seed in the NFC playoffs. 2007 saw the first one. The Giants defeated Tony Romo and the team. Prescott was the rookie starter for the second one, which occurred in 2016.

Everyone’s focus is on number four. In the postseason, will he demonstrate his ability to prevail when it counts?

But I don’t think you can just put somebody in his place. They will win enough under Dak Prescott’s leadership to make the playoffs, but that’s when the real success begins.

Dak needs to win this year, but I’m not handing this team off to Cooper Rush or Trey Lance until the end of the season. Whether you like him or not, we can all agree that Dak Prescott has to prevail this season when it counts most.
