It will be a welcome change of pace for Elliott, who is currently in the heart of the NASCAR Cup Series competition. Elliott is presently tied for first place in the Cup Series with Kyle Larson, with 620 points. Larson now has the tiebreaker advantage, however.
Chase Elliott has won one Cup Series race this season, and he has seven top-five finishes and nine top-10s. This weekend’s ASA Southern Super Series race at Five Flags Speedway will be less fierce, but nonetheless challenging in its own right.
Harvick, a FOX NASCAR analyst, spent the first half of the season in the booth, breaking down races for fans. However, with FOX’s coverage of NASCAR ending in the middle of the season and going to NBC, Harvick has been freed up to race.
