SO SAD: Danny Hamlin announced his departure just now after facing…
After the Cup Series season, Stewart-Haas Racing will cease operations. It is anticipated that 23XI Racing would acquire a charter.
Fox Sports’ Bob Pockrass reports that 23XI would probably buy a charter, although team co-owner Denny Hamlin stated on Saturday that they haven’t decided to buy one. Pockrass stated: “Corey Heim, a truck series driver for the team, is now the reserve driver and would be a candidate for that car. Later this month, Heim will compete in Nashville in a third Cup car race for 23XI. Herbst may also be examined if 23XI wants Heim to gain additional experience or if it needs more time to secure Cup money for Heim. After the Cup, Stewart-Haas Racing will no longer be in operation.
Upon discovering that Stewart-Haas was closing, Hamlin messaged the crew on social media. He stated, “We should take this opportunity to express our gratitude to [Stewart-Haas Racing] for all of their contributions to our sport over the past few decades.” “They made competitors into champions and winners into contenders.” For some, this marks the end of their time in the sport, but it will usher in a new one for others. Let’s recognize all of their successes and send them our best wishes for the future.
In 2002, Stewart-Haas was established under the name Haas CNC Racing. After deciding to drive for the team in 2009, Tony Stewart became a co-owner and Stewart-Haas Racing was established. Stewart-Haas has won one Xfinity Series Championship and two Cup Series championships during its tenure. Chase Briscoe, Ryan Preece, Josh Berry, and Noah Gragson are the drivers in the Cup Series currently on the roster. Riley Herbst and Cole Custer, two drivers in the Xfinity Series, are also on the squad.
