After defeating Tennessee, ranked third, 4-1, on Sunday night in the Knoxville Super Regional,

the Alabama softball team has punched their ticket to the Women’s College World Series for the sixteenth time in program history. For the Crimson Tide in the victory, Riley Valentine had every RBI. Before the game was postponed for almost three hours due to bad weather, the Tide had the bases loaded in the top of the first inning after Valentine hit a grand slam to give the team a 4-0 lead. Jocelyn Briski, a rookie, managed the ballgame in the circle for the remainder of it. After pitching six scoreless innings, she was lifted by Kayla Beaver after giving up her first run in the seventh. Briski, who allowed just one run on four hits, received the victory.
