There is still a ton of important players in the Transfer Portal, so the coming weeks will not be short on news. After four seasons with the Owls, Florida struck gold once more this weekend when they signed former Florida Atlantic guard Alijah Martin.

Arriving to Florida Atlantic four seasons ago, Martin, a 6’2 wing originally from Summit, Mississippi, didn’t get much run support during his rookie campaign. As a sophomore, he moved into the starting lineup full-time and established himself in the Owls’ backcourt, where he would remain for the next three seasons.

Throughout those three seasons, Martin scored at least 13 points per game on average, with his sophomore year displaying some of his best play. He scored 29 points in Florida Atlantic’s heartbreaking Final Four defeat to San Diego State as a junior, helping to guide the team to that historic season.

Martin is a skilled scorer and shooter. Although his numbers were a little down this season, he still averaged 13.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, even if his career low of 34% from long range was reached. Whatever the case, the Owls, who made a comeback to the Big Dance this season, were undoubtedly affected by Martin.
