Trayce Jackson-Davis was noted for his high-flying dunks at Indiana, which he brought over to the NBA during his rookie season with the Golden State Warriors.

NBA.com has nominated Jackson-Davis for 2023-24 NBA Dunk of the Year for his posterizing dunk over San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama, who is a possible Rookie of the Year candidate. He is one of six nominees for the honour, along Anthony Edwards, Isaiah Joe, Andre Jackson Jr., Malik Monk, and Shaedon Sharpe.

Following an All-American career at Indiana, where he became the program’s all-time leader in rebounding and blocked shots while also finishing third in all-time scoring, Jackson-Davis was selected 57th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft. But after one season in the NBA, he clearly underperformed his selection position.

Jackson-Davis’ rookie season ended on April 16 when the Warriors fell to the Sacramento Kings in the Play-In Tournament. He began the game but only had two points and one rebound in 11 minutes of play, as Warriors coach Steve Kerr chose to give Jonathan Kuminga more minutes off the bench.

Jackson-Davis started 16 games and played 68, averaging 16.6 minutes per game. He scored 7.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game. His 70.2% field goal percentage was fourth in the NBA among players with at least 175 tries and first all-time among Hoosiers with at least 300 attempts in a single NBA season.
