Adou Thiero was one of the players who elected to use the transfer portal before Coach John Calipari left for Arkansas.

After announcing his plans, Thiero left a good message for Kentucky, and we later discovered that a return to Kentucky was still on the table.
After all of this, Coach Calipari left for Arkansas, leaving everyone scratching their heads over Thiero’s next move.

After not hearing from Thiero in a few days, he shared a list of schools he is contemplating. Pitt, North Carolina, Arkansas, Indiana, and Kentucky are all on the list.

So a return to Lexington is still an option for Thiero, as is remaining with Coach Calipari and moving to Fayetteville.

We often discuss Coach Pope’s system, but he will not do everything the same way he did at BYU last year. While he has an offensive scheme, and a strong one at that, Coach Pope will adjust things depending on the talent he has.

Coach Pope will be seeking to recruit players that can shoot the ball through the transfer portal, but physicality is also important, which is why Thiero makes a lot of sense.

Thiero began to make three-pointers during the stretch of the Wildcats’ season last year, which helped an already strong offence improve even further.

Thiero may be the head-down, ball-to-the-basket player that Coach Pope urgently needs on his first Kentucky squad.
