Max Verstappen announce his departure from racing driver

The pricey and intricate MGU-H system gets eliminated in 2026 when F1 moves to new power unit regulations that place a greater focus on the electric power supplied by the MGU-K.

Together with using sustainable fuels, Formula One will continue to run its turbocharged V6 engine, which will be split 50/50 between internal combustion and electricity.

By 2026, Red Bull and sister team RB will switch from Honda engines to power units made by Red Bull Powertrains. With help from partner Ford, they will be built in Red Bull’s Milton Keynes headquarters.

Red Bull’s switch to an in-house engine is a large step into the unknown and what team principal Christian Horner has called the team’s “biggest challenge” in the 20 years the company has been in business.

However, the Dutchman insists there’s “no need to panic” about it just yet, despite rumors that the engine project is lagging behind its counterparts and may prompt Verstappen to think about his choices.

“I mean, if I have to speculate about everything… I might be worried if I’m still alive tomorrow, right?,”
