So sad: former cornerback Tre’ Davious White deal terminated today…
Tre’Davious White, a cornerback, is reportedly close to agreeing to a one-year, $8.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Rams.
According to sources Adam Schefter received information from, the contract had “a max value up to $10 million.”
After spending his entire career (seven seasons) in Western New York, White was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The Bills released White on March 13 as a post-June 1 cut, saving the team $10.2 million in salary cap.
White has participated in 82 games over the last seven seasons, starting every one of them, and has 311 total tackles and three sacks. Throughout his career, he has caused five fumbles and recovered four, but his 18 interceptions and 68 passes defensed have established him as one of the league’s top corners.
White was on injured reserve for the majority of the previous two seasons. The 2021 Thanksgiving Day victory over the New Orleans Saints resulted in the All-Pro cornerback tearing his ACL. Before he returned to the field, a year had passed. At the beginning of 2023, White was attempting to get back to his All-Pro form after participating in the final six games of the previous season. But once more, in a game against the Miami Dolphins in Week 4, the 29-year-old White tore his Achilles tendon, ending his season early.
According to reports, White spent some time in Los Angeles while undergoing rehabilitation, and Neal Attrache, the team physician for the Rams, operated on him to repair his ACL.
