5 free agent cornerbacks the Detroit Lions could sign to replace Cameron Sutton
After Sutton’s difficult rookie season in 2023, several Lions supporters wanted him gone. With the arrival of Carlton Davis, he was expected to have another opportunity to prove himself the following season, albeit in a less demanding capacity. However, everything suddenly altered due to the seriousness of his alleged off-field violation.
On their cornerback depth chart, the Lions now have a prominent place open, for better or worse. This offseason, Brad Holmes made a determined attempt to solve the team’s largest problem as soon as possible. He signed Amik Robertson and completed a trade for Davis before the second day of free agency began. It is still possible to draft a cornerback, maybe as early as the first round of the draft next month. But these five make a lot of sense, and the Lions ought to be searching for a veteran to add.
