In the seven seasons prior to tight end Irv Smith Jr.’s arrival at Alabama in 2016, head coach Nick Saban had led the Crimson Tide to four national titles.
After helping the NFL franchise win three Super Bowls in the previous five seasons, Smith signs with the Kansas City Chiefs under head coach Andy Reid.
Throughout Smith’s three seasons with the Tide, Alabama participated in the national championship game and took home the trophy in his sophomore campaign.
Smith signed as a free agent last week and is aiming for similar outcomes in Kansas City.
Regarding the winning histories of the two programs, Smith stated, “It’s crucial.” “A benchmark has been established. I was aware of that norm when I traveled to Alabama, and I’m aware of it now that I’m in Chiefs Kingdom. I wanted this chance when it came time to make a decision since I don’t take it lightly.
