Brooklyn Nets head coach Kevin Ollie announced his departure today…

After a breakthrough season, Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas believes he should be receiving more

consideration for the Most Improved Player award. And during Brooklyn’s most recent victory, interim head coach Kevin Ollie expressed his admiration for the third-year guard’s growing skill set.

Ollie declared, “I really [believe he should be in the running]. Observing his development I felt that his performance against Cleveland the other day was among his greatest. In addition to his scoring, he also pulls down rebounds, plays defense, touches and hits opponents, and converses with them. Thus, it’s been incredible to watch his development since I arrived and how he continues to perform the things we want him to.”

In 2023–24, Thomas has emerged as a key member of the Nets’ offense after starting the most of his first two seasons on the bench. Utilizing a 44/37/83 shooting split to average a team-high 21.3 points per game, the LSU graduate has made the most of his opportunity. He is the player in the league with the greatest scoring average, having increased by 10.7 points over the previous campaign.
