Mac Jones is not fully aligned with the New England Patriots. The Pats are sending the third-year quarterback to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a late-round pick because he was never able to fit into the team’s playbook.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter claims that the Patriots executive management ultimately chose to move Jones to the Jaguars after becoming weary of him. Jacksonville would have agreed to send New England a sixth-round selection in return.

It has not been discussed by either side. However, Schefter claims that the agreement will be official on Wednesday, March 15, the first day of the NFL season. Jones is scheduled to travel to Jacksonville for the comparable physical as soon as they are cleared to move.
