Georgia’s Athens The Ole Miss Rebels are defeated 69-66 by the Georgia Bulldogs in their season-ending home game.

The Bulldogs’ record now stands at 16-14 overall and 6-11 in the conference after the victory. The Rebels, meanwhile, drop to 20-10 and 7-10 in the SEC.

With two free throws in the opening minute of the game, rookie forward Dylan James gave the Dawgs the lead. With 16:40 remaining, the two teams swapped baskets, with UGA taking two straight to lead 8–4. It took over three minutes for any side to score, but with 13:47 remaining, James’ dunk gave Georgia a 6 (10-4) lead. With 11:40 remaining in the half, Georgia added a couple more to take their biggest lead of the half, 8 (14-6). Just 14 seconds later, Georgia head coach Mike White received a flagrant penalty for reacting to a foul on rookie player Silas Demary Jr.

At 8:52, Ole Miss tied the score at three points with a combination of jump shots and free throws. After Brandon Murray sank a three-point jumper with 6:44 remaining in the game, the Rebels were within two points (20–22). Senior player Allen Flanigan then made 2-2 free throw tries to further narrow the gap. With 3:38 left, graduate student guard Noah Thomasson answered for the Dawgs with a three-point jumper. UGA was able to extend their lead to five points, but with one second left, the Rebels made a jumper to tie the half at thirty-two points.

Jaemyn Brakefield, a senior forward, made a three-point jump shot in the first minute of the second quarter to equalize the score for Ole Miss. After Murray made a layup with 18:37 remaining in the game, the Rebels claimed their first lead of the contest, 37-35. Less than 40 seconds later, Thomasson gave the Dawgs a response with a 3-point shot, but Ole Miss was able to respond with two field goals to make it 41-40. With 11:24 remaining in the game, graduate student Russell Tchewa scored his first field goal of the match to start a 7-0 Georgia run that lasted for two and a half minutes and put the Dawgs up 47-41.
