The Georgia head coach Kirby Paul Smart his assistant are going against…

The newest iteration of the Canterbury Bulldogs will take on the Parramatta Eels,

a fierce opponent from Western Sydney who are also gunning for a far better season, to begin their 2024 campaign and maybe earn their way back to glory.

The game on Saturday, March 9 will begin at 5:30 p.m. (AEDT).

The Bulldogs’ new recruitment drive is being spearheaded by Stephen Crichton, but the first big surprise came on Tuesday when he was named at center instead of fullback.

In an effort to avoid the bottom four, where they have been stuck for several seasons, a number of new players have joined the Bulldogs for the upcoming campaign.

Although there are still a lot of unanswered problems surrounding the Bulldogs, Cameron Ciraldo’s second season as coach should be better than his first.

Conversely, Parramatta was among the worst letdowns of the previous year. Illnesses hindered a team where everything never seemed to go right, and they would eventually miss the finals, rather than supporting their grand final performance from 2022.

Coach Brad Arthur is under a lot of pressure after a quiet off-season, and he might have to battle for his job if the team doesn’t make the finals.

Not just him, of course; this bunch of players is simply too excellent to not finish in the top eight. This is a crucial season for the blue and gold, and if they want to place in the top eight, they need to win games like these. It’s time for the playing group to step up, though.
