When Tennessee basketball faces Kentucky on Saturday to wrap out the regular season, it will play host to a number of highly regarded prospects.
With a 66-59 victory over No. 17 South Carolina on Wednesday night, the Vols captured their sixth consecutive SEC regular season championship in program history. They have won at least a share of the SEC regular season championship 11 times in the program’s history. Tennessee has now won the league in a total of twenty-four years, including 1936, 1941, 1943, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 2000, 2008, and now 2024.
In the middle of the last week of the regular season, Tennessee led South Carolina by one game going into the matchup in the SEC standings. After winning in Tuscaloosa over the weekend, UT also led Alabama by one game in the rankings. However, the Crimson Tide’s defeat at Florida on Tuesday night gave UT the chance to claim the SEC title outright with a victory against South Carolina.
The victory also guaranteed the Vols the top overall seed in the SEC Tournament the following week. Next Friday at 1 p.m. ET, they will take on the No. 8 or No. 9 seed in the field in Nashville, Tennessee.
One of the top five-star prospects in the group of guests this weekend is the main attraction. Here is the current list of guests expected to arrive in Tennessee this weekend.
