Jerod Mayo wants Mac Jones to be traded.

Jerod Mayo, the head coach of the New England Patriots, explains his reasoning for wanting Mac Jones traded.

Coach Jerod Mayo of the New England Patriots made an effort to set the record straight regarding the organization’s future goals, stating that recent remarks made by both him and director of scouting Eliot Wolf were not intended as a jab at Bill Belichick.

Wolf stated to the media on Tuesday that the Patriots want to proceed with a “open, kind of less hard-ass type vibe in the building.” While acknowledging these distinctions on Wednesday, Mayo—who both played and coached for Belichick—also gave the six-time Super Bowl champion coach high marks.

“It’s going to be different, but at the same time I would say Bill did a great job for a long period of time,” Mayo stated. I would like that you [the media] not interpret this as ‘since we’re changing, there are shots directed against the old regime.’

“We will approach it differently and it will feel different after expressing that. Ultimately, though, we hope to achieve the same level of success as the previous government. Between Bill and his crew, I learnt a great deal. We’ll now see how this franchise chapter is portrayed.”

After 24 seasons, the Patriots let Belichick go in January. With 8-9 and 4-13 records in the previous two seasons, the squad had declined in each case.

Several people have closely examined how Mayo and Wolf’s statements on Belichick mirrored their vision for the franchise when they made their announcements in media interviews.

In response, Mayo stated on Wednesday: “It’s been done a certain manner at a high level for

20-plus years. However, I would also add that there are several approaches. Coach found success with it. Let’s see what suits Eliot and me best.”

Wolf is about to start his fifth season with the team, although it is his first as the personnel manager.

“We’re really excited to kind of get going here and try to help improve the team and get us back to respectability,” Wolf stated in his first formal interview for his new position this week.

When asked about his approach to free agents, Wolf replied, “We’re moving in the right path with this new initiative. A new age has begun. Jerod Mayo will provide us with outstanding leadership. He is simply an amazing leader and human development expert. Additionally, I believefeel things are going to get very amazing and exciting here as we move forward with a new offense and defense.
