The potential transfer of Max Verstappen from Red Bull to Mercedes…

Max Verstappen’s possible switch from Red Bull to Mercedes, which Schumacher cryptically suggests is already being discussed, is causing quite a stir in the Formula One world.

Red Bull’s chief executive officer, Christian Horner, had to navigate a whirlwind of rumors and controversy as the Formula One circus set up shop in Bahrain. His legendary career was in danger of being overshadowed by an alleged affair, which led experienced journalist Roger Benoit to wonder if the Horner case was really necessary for Formula 1. Benoit’s reflections create a boundary, separating possible wrongdoing from hearsay: “No, if it’s just rumors and speculation.” Yes, provided that wrongdoing and complaints are found.

Red Bull, in a show of defiance, denied any wrongdoing to Horner and attempted to close this chapter in their history. The team spokeswoman reaffirmed that the squad is united and focused on the race, saying, “There is no issue and we are focusing on the racing.” But fissures showed through the solidarity’s outer layer. There were hints of underlying problems when Horner and Max’s father, Jos Verstappen, were seen involved in heated, private meetings.

After the race, the story became more complex as Jos Verstappen had an interesting conversation with Toto Wolff, a former competitor who is now a key player in this drama developing. Further conjecture was sparked by Wolff’s cryptic response, “Everything is possible,” to questions over Verstappen’s future. According to Schumacher, this indicates that talks are well underway. “To me, that means they are already in negotiations,” he said, adding, “That’s plan B if everything else falls apart.”
