Patrick Mahomes was placed on trade

Patrick Mahomes was just traded by the Kansas City Chiefs head coach to…

Sunday marked the conclusion of the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, but it was a record-breaking occasion. The quickest 40-yard dash record was broken by Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who finished the drill in 4.21 seconds. After his initial attempt, which lasted 4.25 seconds, Mahomes posted a brief message on X (previously Twitter) expressing his surprise.

According to projections, Worthy will go between the first and second rounds of the 2024 draft as a “bubble” pick. His explosive speed at the Combine might tip the scales and land him in Detroit’s first round selection; Mahomes’ Chiefs own the final pick in the first round.

It’s no secret that the Chiefs require at least one upgrade.

the position of wide receiver. Following late-season controversy, Kansas City just cut Marcéz Valdes-Scantling to free approximately $12 million in salary cap space. Meanwhile, it is not anticipated that Kadarius Toney will play again in 2024. Mahomes’ most dependable pass-catchers, excluding tight end Travis Kelce, are Rashee Rice and Justin Watson; hence, another youthful addition at the position would be appreciated.

Worthy’s chance of being selected by Kansas City with the 32nd overall pick in the draft is not guaranteed. However, owner Clark Hunt and general manager Brett Veach might find it worthwhile to exchange assets in exchange for a higher draft pick if Mahomes wants to play with the Texas speedster.
