The Buffalo Bills’ head coach lost his wife.

The Buffalo Bills relied on some new players to step in and replace some of their biggest stars because their defense was decimated by injuries all season long. One player took full advantage of his opportunity.

Terrel Bernard, a second-year linebacker, was that player, of course. Having started just one game as a rookie, Bernard has established himself as a breakout star by starting all 17 games this season. The Baylor product became a leader on defense and was everywhere on the field, recording a team-high 143 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and three interceptions.

Not only did Bernard win over the hearts of the supporters, but also his coaches.During a One Bills Live appearance,When asked who he believed to be the Bills’ biggest breakout player this season, head coach Sean McDermott, predictably, gave Bernard’s name without hesitation.
