SO SAD: Texas longhorn head coach Steve Sarkisian announced his departure….

INDINAPOLIS— When T’Vondre Sweat declined to weigh in at the Senior Bowl, the decision generated media attention in Mobile, Alabama.

Getting first-round attention is the only headline he wants to create at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Before Thursday’s training at Lucas Oil Stadium, the amount of sweat measured 366 pounds. In order to help the Texas Longhorns win their first Big 12 championship since 2009, the current Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year told reporters on Wednesday that he played at 365 pounds.

We have to learn to love our bodies, and as you can see, I do. I basically have a massive frame and I’m a big person. Man, I simply grew into my body.

Sweat, the Outland Trophy winner, claimed that he felt most at ease weighing 365 pounds. His weight as a freshman was 334. After a year, that increased to 346.

I’m just a large man. Many people are afraid of numbers and other things, but I think many people will be taken aback when they see me move tomorrow.

Because of his ability to carry the load, the native of Huntsville was named unanimously All-American as the Longhorns secured a spot in the College Football Playoffs. With just 82.4 yards per game allowed on the ground, Sweat, an anchor up the middle, helped the Longhorns produce the third-best run defense in the country.

Sweat is a predicted mid-round pick, and his combine performance might propel him into late-Day 1 talks. Every drill, even the 40-yard dash, is something he intends to run.
