My question is who can replace the super star Max Verstappen.

Helmut Marko, an advisor for Red Bull Motorsport, has acknowledged that he was taken aback by Max Verstappen’s effortless victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix, which kicked off the F1 season.

The Dutchman started his title defense off to the ideal start, leading teammate Sergio Perez home by 22.4 seconds from lights to flag.

After testing, Ferrari appeared to be in the running to challenge Red Bull, but after Verstappen’s victory, Marko told ServusTV: “It was overwhelming.”

We had not anticipated this, yet nevertheless it all came together. Max triumphed initially and then simply vanished. It is impossible to put it in any other manner.

“His superiority could be seen because his fastest lap was two seconds faster than anyone else.”

During the 57-lap race, several of Red Bull’s competitors experienced problems with their cars overheating, but Marko clarified: “Max always drove in clean air, so for him there was no problem.”

“It didn’t affect his car.”

Although Perez would have preferred to have begun the new season closer to Verstappen, the winning margin was nearly twice as large as it was in the same race the previous year.

Marko, however, defended the Mexican, saying: “Checo maintained the distance from Sainz. It was pointless to launch an attack.

“Anyway, the outcome was quite positive. The plan, the detours, everything was amazing.”
