SO SAD: Max verstappen of Red Bull racing announced to the head board that…..

The first two practice sessions of the 2024 Formula 1 season were held at the Sakhir track on Thursday.

Although RB driver Daniel Ricciardo led the timesheet in an insignificant first practice, the outcome of the second practice was somewhat unexpected, as Lewis Hamilton led a Mercedes 1-2 ahead of Fernando Alonso.

The Red Bull driver lined up behind Carlos Sainz and Piastri, 0.477s off the pace. The latter doesn’t think that will last very long.

Piastri told the official F1 website, “Red Bull don’t look quite as quick as we thought, [but] we’ll see how many sandbags come off tomorrow.”

“It’s much closer than I thought.” Fernando and Mercedes appeared swift. Though it’s usually difficult to assess on a Friday, I believe we’re kind of in the middle of the pack.

“Hopefully we can stay near the front of that mix with the teams we’re around. Being near the podium or near 10th is very much a possibility.”
