RB’s current location is in Bicester, UK, a town in the infamous “motorsport valley” that is located north of Oxford. It serves as the team’s wind tunnel and is home to many of its aerodynamic resources and model makers.
Mekies has disclosed that the group plans to relocate the operation a little more than 20 kilometers, though.
It is incredibly easy. Franz [Tost] has done a great job modernizing the headquarters in our excellent facility in Faenza, Mekies added.
“It was probably constructed in 2015 or 2016.” That seems like a solid foundation on which to develop.
However, we are not content with the infrastructure that Bicester now has. It does not, in our opinion, put our guys in the greatest possible situation.
The history of it is the only reason. We have since outgrown the tiny premises.
He said, “We used to be there because we were using our wind tunnel, but that is no longer the case.”
“We have made the decision to shut down the website.
“It will be discontinued; it is essentially the aero department, the concept department, and a few other bits and pieces there.
“Instead, we are creating a brand-new, cutting-edge headquarters in Milton Keynes, outside of the Red Bull campus, that will be comparable to our top-notch facilities in Faenza.”
Rivals who are already apprehensive about the relationship between RB and Red Bull Racing will probably take offense at the move.
Senior staff members have moved from the senior team to the junior operation, with no apparent gardening leave, and the two squads share a wind tunnel.
