Due to actions that were detrimental to the team, cornerback Tony Brown and receiver-punt returner Isaiah McKenzie were suspended by the Indianapolis Colts for the remaining three games of the regular season.
In the NFL, individual player suspensions by teams are uncommon. The league’s headquarters usually handles player sanctions. Suspensions are typically associated with breaking player safety regulations or the league’s personal conduct code. The Colts made the statement on Tuesday, but they did not elaborate on what had happened.
This season, special teams have been the areas in which both players have had the biggest influence. They were both rested from Saturday’s game against Pittsburgh. Prior to Saturday, McKenzie had participated in all 13 games and served as the team’s main punt and kick returner.
The Colts made a matching move by promoting running back Tyler Goodson back to the active roster from the practice squad. In Saturday’s 30-13 triumph, Goodson saw his first carries of the season and finished with 11 rushes for 69 yards.
This week, the Colts (8-6) might require ball carriers. After undergoing surgery on his right thumb, Jonathan Taylor has missed the last three games for Indianapolis. Zack Moss, his substitute, was limited to four carries against the Steelers before suffering a right arm injury that he sustained during the preseason.
Whether Taylor or Moss is anticipated to play Sunday against (6-8) Atlanta has not been stated by coach Shane Steichen.
