The next team they play is Notre Dame, who is still very much in the midst of their first-year rebuild even though they have shown glimpses of promise under first-year head coach Micah Shewsberry. Payne took time to speak with the media on the weekly ACC Coaches Conference Call before their game against the Fighting Irish. He talked about the last game at Pitt, gave a preview of the next game against Notre Dame, and more.
