The three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson’s turbulent season with the Cleveland Browns came to an end in November of last year when he sustained a season-ending shoulder injury. Watson was sidelined for a considerable amount of time after having surgery to fix the issue.
But now that he’s back on the path to recovery, the 28-year-old is moving forward and hoping to return to full strength before the next season.
Important Update on Deshaun Watson’s Health—QB, Cleveland Browns
Team insider Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com reports that Watson will likely make a big recovery progress next month:
“Watson, who had surgery on November 21 to fix his fractured right shoulder socket, is expected to start throwing in March — possibly in a few weeks — which is encouraging for his involvement, at minimum, in the Browns’ April 15 offseason,” Cabot reported.
There is no doubting that this is a big step in the right direction for the standout quarterback, even though a concrete timeline for Watson’s return to action is still unknown. Right now, every indication is that the former Clemson star will be ready for the Browns’ 2024–25 season opening.Elijah Moore, a wide receiver for the Browns who is anticipated to be among Watson’s most valuable assets in the upcoming campaign, disclosed that he had a recent conversation with Watson. Moore conveyed the team’s excitement about having their quarterback back:
Moore told Cleveland.com, “I was just talking to him a couple of days ago,” on radio row during Super Bowl week in Las Vegas. “I believe that he is currently just coming back to normal. Everyone is hoping and praying for him, as well as for that to go well. But it seems like everyone is waiting. I believe that a small itch is there in everyone. Since I didn’t really have enough time to discuss it with him, it only buys us a little more time.
“.. I’m eager. I believe that everyone will either be where he is at or that we will all connect as soon as he is given the all-clear to proceed with whatever his procedure may be.
Fans of the Browns are undoubtedly hopeful that Watson can maintain his health in 2024–2025. Only 12 games have been played by the former first-round pick in his first two Cleveland seasons.
