After leading the Louisville football team to the ACC Championship Game in his first season as head coach,

 

Jeff Brohm concluded the season with a 10-4 record and a 15th-place rating in the College Football Playoffs. In 2024, they intend to try to duplicate that success and perhaps even surpass it.

Under four years as head coach, Scott Satterfield had matched his best record from his first campaign, and Louisville football was coming off an 8-5 record. However, Brohm’s success was somewhat of a surprise, particularly in a conference where Florida State and Clemson were still fighting for the top two positions in the title game.

The influence that Brohm’s entrance had on the Cardinals football squad was noteworthy due to the transfer portal. With 25 committed and 25 outgoing transfers, Louisville’s transfer portal class from the previous season was ranked No. 12. Similar trends may be seen in the 2024 transfer class, which has almost equal numbers of incoming and exiting transfers.

Louisville football will have 26 new recruits entering the program and 18 leaving, making them the sixth-best portal class in the nation, according to 247sports, for the 2024 winter cycle. Of them, five will be four-star commits and twenty-one will be three-stars. The Cardinals’ roster for the upcoming season looks to be undergoing yet another major reorganization and reorganization.

Last season, Brohm demonstrated that the Cardinals can definitely compete.
