Derby County receive Dwight Gayle transfer boost

Port Vale manager Darren Moore has ruled out a move for DerbCounty transfer target Dwight Gayle.

Gayle has been linked with a surprise move to Vale Park becausy e of the success he enjoyed playing under Moore at West Brom earlier in his career. But Moore has made it clear the free agent striker will not be joining the League One club, as Derby try to complete a deal for the 34-year-old.

“I can understand people linking, you know, in terms of Dwight’s position that he’s in and our time that we spent when we was at West Brom,” Moore told BBC Radio Stoke. “Wonderful human being, a good footballer, can see the fit, what he would be in terms of potentially where fans would probably be putting sums together in terms of here.
