Postgame notes and John Calipari’s Wildcats recall the exciting victory over Auburn.

As things appeared to be at their lowest point of the season, the Kentucky Wildcats made a fierce comeback.

Tuesday’s thrilling 12-point victory over an Ole Miss squad that was only 18-5 marked the start of it. The victory over the No. 13 Auburn Tigers in their building on Saturday marked the end of it.

Auburn Tigers take over Nashville

Antonio Reeves (22) and Adou Thiero (14) combined for 36 points, and along with a strong defense, Kentucky marched into Auburn and never looked back, winning 70-59.

With six games left, the Cats are now 18-7 overall. The two biggest ones coming up are at home against No. 15 Alabama and at LSU next week.

Following the victory on Saturday, head coach John Calipari held a press conference with a few players to talk about the game-changing victory. This is a summary of their remarks as provided by UK Athletics.

Auburn was limited to 0.91 points per possession by Kentucky. When limiting the opposition to one point per possession or fewer, UK is undefeated this season.
Auburn was limited to 30.9% from the field by Kentucky (17 of 55). This is the season’s best defensive shooting percentage for UK.
Under Calipari, UK is 241-24 (90.9%) while limiting the opposition to 40 percent or less of the field.
Auburn made 4 of 22 3-pointers, shooting 18.2% from the field. The UK opponent has shot fewer than the average for the third straight game.
