Giants WR Named Fit to Replace Bengals’ Free Agent Tyler Boyd

The experienced wide receiver Parris Campbell, who was labeled a fit to join the Cincinnati Bengals in 2024 NFL free agency and assist replace veteran slot receiver Tyler Boyd, wasn’t very successful with the New York Giants in 2023.

Despite having “a down year” with the Giants, Campbell is one of the better fits for the Bengals, according to Jay Morrison of The Pro Football Network. Though he didn’t make an impression with Big Blue, Campbell “has only made seven drops since joining the league in 2019 and has played 75.6 percent of his snaps in the slot.” Campbell has fewer drops than just 13 receivers with at least 1,500 offensive snaps.

The Bengals, who “drafted Charlie Jones to replace Tyler Boyd, who is a free agent and expected to play elsewhere in 2024,” should be drawn to those figures. But Jones only played 41 offensive snaps and missed six games following thumb surgery in late September.

Campbell’s market value ought to follow suit. Morrison mentioned Spotrac.com, which projects the 26-year-old’s earnings for a one-year contract at $3.5 million. Given that the Bengals “still could have interest in acquiring another inexpensive veteran in the slot,” that number is encouraging.

Given that Campbell did not perform to the Giants’ standards the previous season, they no longer saw a need for him. Wan’Dale Robinson, a rising star who can benefit from the role, is also present.
