Davison was offered a position at Alabama football under head coach Nick Saban. Robert Gillespie, the running back coach for the Tide, has been getting to know Davison ever before the California product started to get Alabama’s attention. Under Kalen DeBoer, Gillespie stayed with the Tide in the same capacity.

Along with his friendship with Alabama’s new general manager, Davison’s continued interest in Alabama is “definitely” influenced by Gillespie’s retention.
