SAD NEWS: Roll Tide NICK SABAN of Alabama was shot on his way to

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer has been the busiest man in America since his hiring January 12, managing one of the most high-profile coaching transitions in college football history in one of the most complicated eras of the game’s history.

From NIL, to the transfer portal, to assembling a coaching staff, to signing the final pieces of his 2024 recruiting class and beginning to recruit his 2025 class, the past four weeks have left DeBoer and his staff little time to rest. But signing day has now passed, a recruiting dead period has resumed and Friday marks the final day of the 30-day transfer portal window that opened after Saban’s retirement — so the whirlwind is slowing down in Tuscaloosa.

In fact, word is DeBoer and some of his former Washington assistants headed back to their homes in Seattle late this week for the first time since January 12, when a private jet took DeBoer to Alabama. Hopefully someone threw out the expired milk in the fridge.
