SOURCES: what a great deal, he is brilliant and…

The Chicago Bulls anticipated this combination developing become one of the best cores in the entire Eastern Conference when they signed DeMar DeRozan and Lonzo Ball in 2021 to complement All-Stars Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic.

While things appeared to be going well in the first half of the 2021–22 season, injuries caused everything to unravel. LaVine has struggled with several foot problems, Ball hasn’t played since the 2021–22 season, and now there are whispers circulating concerning the Bulls franchise’s near future with just 48 hours left until this season’s NBA trade deadline.

At 23-27, the Bulls are now squeezing into an East play-in tournament spot. The rest of the league has been closely watching the Bulls since they just revealed that LaVine would miss the entirety of the 2023–24 season due to a decision to have surgery on his right foot. It is unlikely that LaVine will be sold before Thursday’s trade deadline, even if it has been reported that the Detroit Pistons are seriously considering a trade for him. It’s much more likely that a deal involving the two-time All-Star will happen in the offseason since Chicago won’t just dump him for whatever value they can get.

Three players are the subject of the most recent rumors surrounding the Bulls: Andre Drummond, Alex Caruso, and DeMar DeRozan.

Right now, it seems as though DeRozan’s future with the Bulls is highly uncertain. According to league insiders who spoke with ClutchPoints, DeRozan and the prospect of being traded at the NBA trade deadline have been discussed recently. Since the Bulls have been more responsive to inquiries regarding the seasoned player, there is speculation that Chicago will accept the highest bid made for DeRozan, who will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. However, the Bulls have never truly put this kind of mentality on display.
