The Green Bay Packers were a big question mark this season.

The front office urged the fans to sit tight and have faith in their project.

Analysts weren’t so sure about their chances to compete either, and they didn’t get off to the most encouraging of starts.

They managed to finish the season on the highest note by making it all the way to the NFC Divisional Round, and they almost got past the San Francisco 49ers.

The fans finished the season quite sold on Jordan Love, who’s now eligible to sign a big contract extension.

With that in mind, CEO Mark Murphy recently confirmed that the team is all-in on the Utah State product, and they intend to keep him at Lambeau Field for the long run (via Matt Schneidman).

“We feel confident that Jordan is our quarterback of the future,” Murphy said.

Love hadn’t shown signs of promise during his limited playing time behind Aaron Rodgers, but he really turned the corner in his first year as a starter.

He was confident and in control, fitting the pigskin into tight gaps, throwing inside and outside the numbers, and developing a strong rapport with wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson.

The Packers have a long-withstanding tradition of elite quarterbacks.

And while it’s still early in his career, the early returns were more than encouraging.

Now, it remains to be seen if they make him one of the highest-paid QBs in the league or if they’ll be more cautious.
