BREAKING: Bills-Steelers 2024 Wildcard Matchup Expected to be Moved to Tuesday amid Absurd Weather
After the bizarre weather hitting Buffalo, the Pittsburgh Steelers game against the Buffalo Bills is a major question mark. As of this Sunday afternoon, the snowfall accumulation is approximately two feet in Buffalo as the lake-effect snow event has heavily impacted the area. While fans went berserk over the possibility of postponing the game to Monday, it might be just the beginning for the delays in the Great Lake region.

Bills-Steelers Game expecting additional Postponement
While fans have already shown their disapproval of the NFLs decision to postpone the Sunday Afternoon matchup between Buffalo and Pittsburgh, the league is expected to postpone the game to Tuesday after the city has struggled to improve travel conditions. On Saturday, the team provided an opportunity for fans to come to Orchard Park and shovel the stadium but on Sunday, the team decided to usher fans to stay in their houses as travel conditions appear to have worsened. Fortunately, as seen below, some members of Bills Mafia weren’t willing to listen to the recommendations.

While the snow is usually considered a major advantage for the team as they are one of the few cities in the country familiar with lake effect snow, their incoming competition is located just around Lake Erie and is just as familiar with the bizarre weather. For those who are unfamiliar, the weather patterns in the vicinity of Lake Erie have a tendency to produce extreme snow quantities. Buffalo is without a doubt the most extreme as they essentially get a combination of lake-effect snow as well as Nor’easters.

While it is obviously an inconvenience to the fans, I applaud the league for not creating an unnecessary safety hazard by forcing fans to head out in bad weather. After the shameful event that happened last night with the failure of the league to postpone the Chiefs-Dolphins game that was played in wind chill temperatures close to -30 degrees Fahrenheit, the NFL seems to have made a good decision.

While I stand by my opinion that the league is making the right decision by postponing this game until travel conditions are safe enough for the fans, there is no doubt that the winner of this game will be facing a severe disadvantage going into the divisional round. While the rest of the AFC teams will be going on a typical one week of rest, the rest of the winner of this game is rapidly declining and will be down to a possible five days if the game does end up being postponed to Tuesday.
There is also a major concern with Pittsburgh Fans being in the position where they bought tickets and made hotel accommodations that are no longer valid. I imagine a large amount of workplaces in Pittsburgh are getting a large quantity of “sick” calls as fans are essentially snowed into the city of Buffalo. For all of those people struggling with that decision, remember that you’ll most likely be heading back to work on Wednesday!
